Could you tell us more about Arctic Shores?
Arctic Shores is pioneering the combination of neuroscience, psychometrics and game-technology within the recruitment process. We are passionate about making the recruitment process fairer and more diverse. Since launching in 2014, we have expanded to over 40 countries across a range of industries, and had over 1,000,000 candidates completed our assessments.
I am a Senior Business Psychologist. I help clients identify what traits determine success in employees, and then guide them to use our assessment that is aligned to best practices in the field, so that candidates are engaged during the process, and more importantly, are assessed objectively. Some companies know what they are looking for in a potential employee (e.g., learning agility), but may not know how to assess for these things in a candidate; others are not sure what the key drivers of performance are in their own employees. Some look for objective ways of assessing their candidates without the human biases that plague typical interview processes; others look for innovative ways to keep candidates engaged throughout the assessment process. This helps companies effectively and efficiently find the best candidates fit for the role identified.
It depends! Firstly we must understand that each role has its own nuances. Even for the same job (e.g., sales) across different companies and industries, different traits may be ideal for performance. A high performing salesperson in the bank may work differently from a high performing salesperson in the manufacturing company. With the Covid-19 situation, we increasingly realise the importance of how well people can manage uncertainty.
Crisis can strike at a global level, but it can also occur at an organisational, team or individual level; someone who can function and manoeuvre with confidence during times like this will have an edge above the rest.
